ahAct Check Referrer 1.0 |
This action allows you to execute another action if the link which led the visitor to your page is not on a page within the domain you specify in the Actions palette. What sort of situation would that be useful in? One example might be when an ancillary page in your site, intended to provide extra information for other pages within the site and only intended to be opened from those pages, is included within the search results of a search engine and might be opened directly from a link in the search results. Why call another action? In a word: flexibility. You might want to try to open the page which provides the primary information, but in these popup-blocking times, that might not prove possible. You might prefer to show an otherwise hidden layer on the page, explaining why the page should be opened along with another, and providing a link to the page(s) in question. Someone may already have an action which handles this situation in a way you want or someone may write a new one which does what you want. Whatever the case, you can simply slot any action you want into the Check Referrer action. The steps for using it are described below. You can download it here: Windows (ZIP archive) Macintosh (SIT archive) Put the folder produced when you decompress the archive in the Modules/JScripts/Actions folder underneath the GoLive installed folder and restart GoLive. |
